PROFILE

Ann Walker is a northern California native, raised in San Francisco. Her art education includes a BFA degree from San Jose State University. She also studied art at the University of Arizona, Tucson; Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton; San Francisco Academy of Art; and Les Bassacs in Provence, France. Ann's professional experience has included 23 years in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she progressed from Graphic Designer, Art Coordinator to Art Director. She and her husband, Jess, reside in Point Loma, San Diego.

Watercolor and watermedia are a continual challenge for Ann. The chemistry of watercolor paint and the spontaneity of watermedia pigments reacting on watercolor paper continues to engage her in this area of fine art. Her backgroud in color and design as a Graphic Designer enable her to combine these skills with her passion to paint. She finds painting in the San Diego area particularly exciting. "It is inspiring for me to live in an area where I can paint outdoors most of the year. It allows me the freedom to relate color and light to so many fascinating shapes around me. Color, especially, is more vibrant and luminous in this part of the state."

Ann has exhbited her art widely throughout the San Diego area in numerous juried and solo exhibitons. She belongs to several art organizations and is the Past President of the Californai Art Museum.
