PROFILE
Lisé Strum is a
sculptor and [painter with more than 14 years of studio experience in
San Diego, building upon her previous career in graphic design and commercial
art. Ms. Strum is known for evocative portraiture and equine art, specializing
in techniques that enable her to capture telling detail in her work. As a sculptor,
she executes figurative, finely nuanced works in plastilene clay and
terra cotta. As a painter, Ms. Strum continues to study and use the
oil techniques used by the Old Masters, employing egg emulsion, powdered
pigments, and oil color washes known to artists 400 years ago. Currently, Ms. Strum serves on the Board of Directors of the San Diego Sculptors’ Guild, is a member of the San Diego Portrait Society, a founding member of Creative Spirits Artists’ Group in San Diego, and a member of the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild. Her involvement with these organizations reflects her commitment to the development of other working artists, as well as the San Diego artistic community.
