Debra Saum was born in San Diego, California. At a very early age, she was captivated with animals. Always curious to learn about every bug, bird, cat, dog, or other living creature, she was most often found talking with animals. Her devotion to nature and he earnest desire to help humans develop compassion for all living things has become the cornerstone of her work.

A self-taught artist, and a natural born telepath, she has been creating her own style of watercolor and acrylic art for over 20 years. Using her professional skills as an Animal Intuitive, she creates one-of-a-kind portraits of domestic animal as well as wildlife. Her "Talking Art" is inspired by conversations she has with the animals she paints. Using her intuition and the deep bond she has with animals, Debra captures the living essence of her beloved subjects. Many people comment on feeling deeply moved by the energy that exudes from her paintings.

In an effort to help promote humane treatment of all animals and to bring awareness about conservation of endangered species around the world, Debra donates 15% - 20% of her profits to Animal Organizations. She also volunteers her time to local Animal Groups such as the Helen Woodward Animal Center.
