ARTIST’S
STATEMENT
"I was born in Watkins Glen,
New York, on December 7, 1974. I am a self- taught Californian artist.
Ever since I was a child I've been interested in creating things with
my hands. During My 3rd year in college I decided to pursue Art as
my life's work. Since then I've worked in many styles and have enjoyed
the perpetual learning process of assimilating new materials.
I began formulating my own style by closing out all external
influences. Looking only to my own subconscious as a place of inspiration.
I found it necessary to allow my sleeping mind to have control over
my creations. In fact many of my earlier pieces have been created
while dreaming. Some of which did not make themselves clear even to
me until completion. Now I embrace all external influences into the
subconscious, allowing these things to manifest in my work abstractly.
It can't be forced. It must be allowed to happen. You are just a necessary
part in the equation. I find this to be essential in the processing
of any of my works.
I believe that all people are creative but have not yet fully
exercised the area of their minds that control such things. I believe
that it is our collective responsibility, as artists, to further humanity
in this re-learning process. Everything is a medium. All things are
art."
