ARTIST’S STATEMENT

“I am striving to maintain the beautiful properties of light in watercolor, while preserving a painterly touch. I draw from life; plein air, figures, and still-lifes and then use these studies to create my larger work. My watercolors reveal aspects of my inner world as I try to synthesize my inner emotions with my outward observations. I experiment with color, types of pigment and different paper, but all of my paintings are watercolor. They are the footprints my soul leaves behind.”
