ARTIST’S STATEMENT

“Ansley has spent the past twenty years traveling but has now returned to her native home of San Diego. In her watercolors and oils on canvas, Ansley explores the sometimes mundane world of nature, seeing the ordinary as extraordinary. Her inspiration comes from the details of nature, its imperfections, and the process of change. Seeking to glorify, what is often regarded, as without meaning, into an up-close and then symbolic image, that tells the story in a moment of life. Her studio’s name Daemon is derived from the French word meaning to breath the spirit of life into an inanimate object. Thus her studio’s name describes what Ansley attempts to accomplish in her work.”
