ARTIST’S STATEMENT

“I believe ‘a wall without art is like a face without features’. As a child, I spent many hours along with my father, an artist. Many visits to art galleries, museums, and the time spent working with my father in his studio, nourished my love for the arts. After a career in the banking industry and a few side trips, I relented to my heart’s desire, painting.

Oil is the medium of choice. I paint landscapes and still life studies in my studio and on location. Living in La Jolla, I enjoy the casual spirit and natural beauty of the area for creating “en plein-air” paintings. Travel is a serious passion and a source of constant inspiration. I paint to convey the feeling of a place or thing. For me, the point of art is not to copy but to amplify, to create an emotional response in the viewer.”
