ARTIST’S STATEMENT

“Art and its creative process is, however briefly, an escape from reality and is the summation of my sensory perception of the subject, primarily landscapes. I translate my view of the subject into shapes and colors, bold or soft, cool or warm depending on the mood of the image. Such artists as Nita Engle, Stephen Quiller, Gerald Brommer, and Mel Stabin have inspired me. Although my paintings are largely representational, I strive through additional experience to become more impressionistic, allowing the viewer to use imagination to fill in the details.”
