As a teenager he took up water sports such as surfing, water-skiing and jet skiing. He also was interested in motocross racing and sports car racing, later becoming a competitive professional racer.

After his father's death, at 18 years of age, he turned his focus on motorsports to pursue a career as a professional racer. Refining his metal working skills he began work in this arena, designing and manufacturing high performance parts for sportscars and race cars. Here he worked with extremely crucial, close tolerance metal forming, machining and welding techniques. As a driver he understood and respected these techniques, as these small details made a big difference at the finish line.
After ten years of traveling and working long days and nights in motorsports he returned to the marine industry to create custom stainless steel and aluminum products for fine yachts. Although these products have their practical propose, he insisted on designing them with an artistic taste.

Still residing in San Diego, he is now creating stainless steel and aluminum pendulum sculptures. These unique pieces have life of their own as they sway counter balanced with a slow, tranquil motion.
