PROFILE

"Recalling the Tonalist School, Jeff Kronen's work evokes a strong sense of mood and atmosphere. These landscapes, often wrapped around an old house or car, are very much about memory, and about time.

Professionally Mr. Kronen has led a varied and successful career in commercial art with occasional forays into abstract painting (e.g. Patricia Judith Gallery Exhibition, West Palm Beach, 1981). In recent years he has synthesized these elements into a cohesive vision, which draws upon both traditional draughtsmanship and a modern and abstract color sense.

Technically the artist utilizes many processes in bringing his imagery to light, including impasto effects, glazing, dry pigments, gold/silver leaf, plein-air sketching, photography, surface-distressing and others. As with one of his inspirations, the painter George Inness, his landscapes are as much about 'the inner vision' as they are about actual places in nature."

Jeff received his education at Parsons School of Design in New York City. He has exhibited widely in galleries and competitive exhibitons in New York City, Chicago, West Palm Beach, Europe, and San Diego.
