PROFILE

Sandra was born on the island of Okinawa, Sandra spent eight years being influenced by the serene ways of the Asian culture. Later her family moved to Jefferson City, Missouri, where she began creating art at the age of thirteen. After moving to San Diego in 1982, she began to create her signature Pen & Ink artwork.

With little technical training, her self-taught skills have won her recognition and awards for her works in Pen and Ink as well as for her works in Acrylic, Oil Pastels, and Pottery.

Sandra has produced art using a wide range of subjects, from landscapes to Native Americans; however, she is best known for creating breathtaking studies of predatory animals, such as wild cats, birds, and wolves.

From 1993 to 2001, Sandra has been the artist behind the beautiful San Diego Blood Bank T-shirts. During that time, donations increased yearly and her T-shirts became collector items.

Sandra is a member of the prestigious Wildlife Artist Association. She is also the first artist allowed to show her work at the Olaf Wieghorst Museum in El Cajon, Ca. She has been commissioned to create designs for some of the following customers: San Diego Zoo, Sea World, Marina World Africa USA, San Diego Wild Animal Park, Pike's Peak, and the San Diego Blood Bank.
