PROFILE
Kwan graduated
from New Asia College, the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a B.A.
degree in painting in 1961. He married Yee Wah Yip, also an artist in
1962. They moved to San Diego, CA in 1963 and made San Diego their hometown
since. Kwan did post-graduate studies at San Diego State University
in 1968-1969. Kwan, an Academician of the National Academy of Design,
also became a signature member of the National Watercolor Society in
1970; member of the American Watercolor Society, NY in 1976; and a member
of the San Diego Museum of Art Artists Guild. His paintings are
Landscape, Portraiture, and Chinese Brush paintings. His art is in the
collections of: Sun-Telegram Newspaper, CA; Windsor and Newton, CA;
San Diego Chinese Historical Museum, CA; Utah State University, Utah;
National Academy Museum, NY; Springville Museum of Art, Utah; PharMingen,
San Diego, CA; IBM Corporation, Austin, TX; General Atomics, San Diego,
CA; and Hickory Museum of Fine Art, NC. Kan’s artwork has
been featured in books and magazines of: “Landscape” by Gerald Brommer;
“Special Focus on California” by John Miller; “Environmental Escape”
by Jan Jennings; American Artists and Illustrated Survey of Leading
Contemporary American” by Krantz; Watercolor 1986” by John Manson; “Splash
