ARTIST’S
STATEMENT
“As an artist,
I love the process of painting and the sensuality of the color as well
as the unpredictability of the outcome. Color is my directive into the
symbols representing everyday life, sometimes realistically sometimes
stripped to the essence of what they are to us as symbols as they appear
in my dreams. As hieratic and quasi-magical shapes, they can be interpreted
as the viewer pleases."
PROFILE I enjoy being involved with many media but seem to come back to painting and my passion for color and moving that color into the space of the canvas. I will always see symbolism and color brimming from all around us and will want to express who we are, where we live and how we see and experience life in my art. Within that process, I hope to bring the healing magic of color and light with a touch of whimsy. My education includes a fine art/liberal arts degree from San
Diego State University, studies in Hamburg, Germany and London, England. |
