PROFILE

 

     Clara was born in Lozzo Cadore, Belluno, Italy. She lived in Italy; Buenos Aires, Argentina; Istanbul, Turkey; Dayton, Ohio; Mexico D.F.; Lima, Peru; and in San Diego since 1978. She studied sculpture at Dayton Art Institute, Dayton, Ohio, Studio Labourdette, Buenos Aires, Argentina, and sculpture and life drawing at the School of Fine Arts and Studio Cristina Galvez, Lima, Peru. Clara received her M.A. from San Diego State University and spent a year carving marble in Pietrasanta, Italy. Her work is heavily influenced by extensive traveling and studies of pre-Columbian Mesoamerican cultures.
