ARTIST’S
STATEMENT
“My work deals
with problems in Art History and those of artistic representation. I
had the opportunity over the years, while living in close proximity
to Venice, to study in depth and experience first-hand the art of the
Venetian Schools in their original context. I am particularly interested
in the Mannerist Period as an analogy of our own times and as a metaphor
of art in self-conscious introspection. My work in this area is a ludic
reflection on the work of such artists as Tintoretto, Titian, and Lotto.
My particular focus is on the physical presence of the works themselves
as historical fragments in relation to the present.”
