PROFILE
Gerrit Greve, a
third-generation Dutch colonial, was born in Bandung, Indonesia. His family subsequently moved to Zeist in the
Netherlands and later in 1957 immigrated to the U.S., settling near
Chicago. This multicultural exposure during his formative years has
shaped both him and his art and informs many aspects of his work. He
graduated from Elmhurst College with a BFA. His artwork is included
in important museum, corporate, and private collections both in the
U.S. and abroad, and he has had numerous gallery and museum exhibitions,
including two solo museum shows. He has been the subject of several
television documentaries, including the Emmy Award-winning KPBS production
"Artists in Residence," the network PBS series "American
Skyline" and KUSI's "The Artists" series. |
