PROFILE
Susanne Flowers is a nationally known fiber artist who has won
numerous awards and exhibited in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Involved
in the arts since she was a child of three years, Flowers continuously
received youth scholarships to the Fort Wayne Art School, now part of
Indiana-Purdue University. Studying Fine Art at Detroit’s Wayne State
University and later Macomb College, Flowers was an honor graduate with
an A.A.S. in Graphic and Commercial Art. As a painter, graphic designer, and fifth generation quilter,
Flowers has combined her skills to create evocative multi-media fiber
works that are highly personal and reveal a sensitive reaction to Nature.
Since moving to California in 1980, Flowers has been associated with
many professional organizations, including the San Diego Museum of Art
Artists Guild, Pacific Quilt Artists, Studio Art Quilt Associates, and
Quilt Visions. Through promotion and advancement of fiber-art, Flowers
has developed innovative techniques, taught classes, curated and organized
exhibits that have showcased East and West Coast fiber artists. |
