ARTIST'S STATEMENT

"I have been inspired by many strong women in my life and have discovered that I hold qualities that reflect these women. My experiences as a mother, sister, daughter, friend, teacher and lover have allowed me to grow infinitely. Art provides the perfect venue to display these qualities and growth."

PROFILE

Araceli's interest in art began at an early age and as she explored and experienced art opportunities to collaborate with other fine arts developed. In 2001 she received a Bachelors of Fine Arts in dance education from Arizona State University. She created several artworks for dance companies that have inspired dance-works and vice versa. She is the resident visual artist at Freese Elementary teaching academics through art and dance. The technique she recently connects with is pastels. They provide a soft sensuous quality that reflects an innate beauty. "
