ARTIST’S STATEMENT

“Painting is my first love, for its freedom of expression. In the act of painting, I am allowed to experience an uninhibited, unedited exploration of inner space. The paintings find connections to shared space and time; they connect shared mythologies through layers of imagery and layers of meaning. They may be seen as something like an archeological dig into the subconscious.

The paintings are like the elucidation of a dream, or the nervous system connected to rivers and roads, or to the architecture of sacred geometry. Mystery, tragedy, beauty, horror, war, and hopes for peace intermingle, collide, and crystallize. The paintings go where words cannot; words make boundaries that paintings gleefully ignore, even transcend."
